Thankfully I have my parents to keep me updated on local news. Yesterday my parents mentioned on the phone to me that Barcelona is being supplied with water by ships. Really? As usual, when it comes to local news, I didn’t have the foggiest clue. I admit that I do not follow local [or national] news at all. At least while I am living in Spain. Back home I am not that ignorant.
I did know we’ve been having a really bad drought. And that they’ve turned off public fountains. But it does seem to be really bad, apparently it is the worst drought of the past 60 years. The past two weeks we have been getting more rain though [more than in the entire time I've been here it seems] and apparently the situation has gotten a little better. But getting water shipped in? That sounds really bad [the fact that they have to, the fact that they can is great].
Yet, here I am, wishing for sunshine! I suppose, considering the situation that is a bit selfish of me, but damn, it has been depressingly cloudy lately. How about this, TPTB: make it rain during the night, and then we get sunshine all day, deal?

Uh. Water supply by ship? Interesting.
I am with you on the weather deal: rain at night and sunshine during the day. Sounds like the perfect deal to me :)
that’s weird.
water by ship?
i’m surrounded by four lakes though, so i suppose i take my freshwater for granted.
sunshine is overrated. it’s a solid 65 (read: near perfect) everyday here, completely sunny. i need heat!
