My girlfriend read "A Spot of Bother" by Mark Haddon a few weeks ago and she loved it. I read a few pages when she brought it home and I was instantly impressed. It's definitely on my reading list as well.

Let me know what you think about "What I loved". I only read a couple of pages, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Hope your new prescription-meds help with the allergies. And on the friendship-thing: I have found many old friends through the internet and I think it'll be fun for you to meet up with your old friends!

Have you read 'The Historian'? It's a great book!

Ahhhh, yeah I know someone on my LJ friends list read it and loved it. What about you? You don't sound so thrilled... ;) But I guess either way it is a major work of literature, so reading it will definitely be a good idea. Another of Atwood's books is actually on the list of suggested reading for my major. So is a book by Munro. Lately I have been trying to select my reading to be semi-pleasure and work, because I cannot afford to waste so much time on "trashy" novels.
