I am feeling fine again. The stomach bug did go away after Monday, thankfully. I found out that Nina and two other members of her family got the same bug Sunday, so I must’ve gotten it from them when we met up on Saturday. Apparently Nina also got it worse than me, because she was sick for three days, which makes me think I was pretty lucky after all.
I am as good as done with Christmas shopping. I have one present ordered, but the others are already bought and wrapped. I know, right? I don’t know why but I just felt like wrapping them the other day. So they are already neatly stored in a bag ready to be transported to Munich next week. I am so ready to go home. I decided I do have to do some work during the break though. I will try to write one of my three termpapers during those two weeks, because I figured that is really the only time I actually have time to do it. Let’s hope I will not put this off any more. It would be great if I can hand it in before February.
Another good thing is I finally have all the books I have to read for one of my classes (we discuss them in January and February, and I had to order them used from Amazon.com). They are all novels, and since I have already read three by the same author (Rudolfo Anaya) I know they won’t take terribly long to read. I will take two to Munich and read the other two when I come back. I will probably also take another one of the books I have bought but not read yet. I am trying to work off that pile and fight the urge to buy more books. I just keep a list of them so I won’t forget about them.
This weekend I have no plans except for Nelly’s birthday party Saturday night. I may try to be productive a little for school, but at the same time I want to take some time to relax.
Last weekend they changed the bus routes/lines around here, and let me just put it this way: getting to places has become so much more complicated. I do not necessarily take longer to get to school or downtown, but I have to transfer at least once, sometimes twice, depending on the connection. It is so confusing and I already miss the old bus system. Sometimes I really wish I lived closer to downtown. I love my apartment and the neighborhood, but it can be such a pain in the butt to live out here. I just wish living in central Heidelberg was more affordable.
Well, I actually do not have that much to say so I will just end this here.
P.S. I love the CSI marathon on a network on TV here on Thursday nights. Too bad it is from 0200 to 0500, I will have to stay up really late to watch all of the four episodes, but I love CSI and get to sleep in tomorrow, so I might just do it.

Well, you get to read a lot of books over your break! Hope you get to kick your inner swine and get that termpaper done! ;-) I know I’m way too nice to my swine (that’s what leo gave me for Schweinehund…) as I read your blog instead of working at my thesis. Hmpf!
So, your wordpress blog is hosted at weblogs.us and it’s free and you can use whatever themes you find online for free there? i’m thinking about moving to wordpress but i’m not willing to pay $$$ and i’m also worried about my old xanga entries as they are so many… Any thoughts?
Have a great weekend!! Hope yuo got to see a few good CSI shows and then slept really well!
A friend of mine is hosting my blog on his site. (That is why it is under a subdomain, http://viviane.loonar.net/.) But using Wordpress is free and you can also find loads of layouts for free, yup. I use this site: http://themes.wordpress.net/ to find themes, because you can also check for specific criteria, and there are just hundreds of themes you can find there.
I know that Sannie used an importing tool for her Xanga entries, so a program copied them over to her new site for her. You can use Wordpress at Wordpress.com, but that site only offers you to use the Wordpress platform, not do all the installation as well, so customization is limited.
I don’t have any experience with Weblogs.us but it appears you cannot currently sign up anyway.
As for another free host to use I cannot think of any that wouldn’t have ads. Maybe you know somebody who has a website, and would be willing to give you some webspace, a database, and a FTP account for a subdomain of theirs?
wow, all your christmas presents are wrapped already? good for you :)
have a great time at home.
p.s. yeah, doesn’t it suck when they change the public transportation schedules??
Yes, with the exception of two that I don’t have yet. But one is ordered and I just have to pick up the other.
They didn’t just change the schedule, but the entire system. As in replaced entire bus routes that have different names now and go a different way. Boo!
