Schwetzingen Palace Park Some site news: not really new news, but I haven’t mentioned it so far, so I am not sure if you noticed already: I added a calendar page, which you can reach through the navigation menu in the sidebar. The page is password-protected - the password is the same as for the protected posts. If you received the e-mail I sent a few weeks ago, you know it. If you don’t, and you want to be able to read protected posts/pages, please let me know. Then, the other week I changed the layout of the site. It is the same layout actually, with different colors and a different header. I love it, and I hope you do too.

Sunset in Schwetzingen Now, for life-related news… Tina visited me this week. Due to November 1st being a holiday I only had two days of classes this week, and on Wednesday Tina came here. We did lots of sightseeing, we visited Heidelberg (of course), Mannheim (though we mostly visited the stores there, heh), Speyer (I had never been there myself, so it was new to me as well), and Schwetzingen (had been there once, a week ago actually, but it was already dark, so I didn’t see much). I took a bunch of photos. I always try to use these chances when I have someone visiting to take my own pictures, because usually you never take pictures of the city you live in, only places you go on vacation. You can look at most of the pictures on Flickr if you like.

Candles at the Dome of Speyer On Thursday we went to IKEA where I got a few things for my place (another plant and some boxes to organize school stuff etc.) and in the evening we went shopping in Mannheim and I bought a bunch of sweaters, since winter is about to start and I never owned a lot of warm clothes that I like. I also got several pairs of earrings. I love wearing earrings and you can never have too many pairs. And on Friday we went to the bookstore I work at and Hunkemöller. I got myself a new book, Heat and Dust by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala and some underwear.

Thursday night and Saturday night we went to the movies in Mannheim. We saw The Devil Wears Prada which was a nice and funny movie, and The Black Dahlia, which was a little graphic but really good. I loved it!

Heidelberg / Neckar Last weekend was pretty busy as well. Friday Nate and I cooked dinner (that is, he cooked, I helped), and watched Grey’s Anatomy. It was a good time. Saturday I went to a meet-up in Mannheim of a message board I post on. It was Petra (who I already knew) and two others, and we had loads of fun!

Sunday I met up with Nina for the first time - we had been friends for a good two years so it was about time we finally met up! It was so much fun, and we’ll meet again when she comes back to Heidelberg in a few weeks.

Sunday evening, I went to see the opera Don Giovanni in Schwetzingen. It had been moved there from the theater in Heidelberg, because that had to be closed for emergency repair.

Me and Nina in Heidelberg Well, as you can tell, I have been having a good time, though I’ve been quite busy. The only bad thing is, due to the weather change this week (it snowed in a lot of parts in Southern Germany, not here, but it has gotten cold), I have caught a cold. Tina and I were outside a lot, and I guess my body didn’t like that. I just hope I will not get any worse, because I don’t have time for being sick this semester (except Fri-Sun). I would just miss too many classes if I only missed a day of school. I took Nyquil last night and will do that until I feel better, so I hope this cold will be dealt with by Tuesday.

Those are gorgeous photos, as Juliane said. Sorry to hear about your cold, but wow - you’ve been so busy! I think I’d get a cold too, if I were doing all that stuff :P

    Glad to see you updating!

@ Juliane Thank you, and I definitely don’t mind if you post a link to them. :)

@ Alynda Thank you. I cannot wait for the Christmas break, and I am only into my 4th week of classes. I have six more to go. I think the next semester won’t be as busy, thankfully.
