I just wanted to share a beautiful poem by E.E. Cummings. I watched the movie In Her Shoes the other day and the poem is read at the end of the movie, and it really is a great piece. Reading some of his poems actually made me really curious about it. I wonder whether I would be able to take a class on E.E. Cummings, I hope they will offer one at the English department in the next couple of semesters.
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling) i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
And here is another one that is, well, not quite so romantic and sweet, but fun. And quite shocking considering the time it was published. Continue reading i carry your heart with me…
So today was an alright day - that is, until I got home and logged on to Myspace and read the following bulletin posted by Snow Patrol:
REMAINING FRENCH AND GERMAN APPEARANCES CANCELLED!!
well, it seems our run of bad luck healthwise continues. this time pablo has fallen foul of it. paul has wrecked his left arm and shoulder and has been advised by his doctor to take four weeks off. this means we have to pull out of the europe two tour of france we our currently in the middle of.
so we will not be playing the four further shows in france and the two shows at the end of the month in germany. paul is gutted and, the trooper that he is, was keen not to cancel anything. however sense must prevail. his injury is serious and if not dealt with now could land him in very dangerous territory in the future. bless him though he feels terrible about it but we’d rather he not lose the use of his arm. he’s a great hugger and he can play the bass a bit too (he can play any instrument you give him, talented git:))
so we don’t want to see him hurt himself more. apologies to those of you who have tickets to see us in france and germany i hope it’s not too last minute for anyone who was travelling from distance to see us. this was all rather sudden and we had to dash over to london to get him seen by a specialist to attempt to be fit to play this evening. alas those efforts failed but we did everything we could to keep the tour going now we must do everything possible to get paul well again.
the rest of the guys are well and after paul is back to 100% we’ll be back in action. we will be fit and healthy for the uk and ireland tour in nov/dec so panic not if ye be panicking.

N.B The Eskimos - The two German shows have been cancelled, while the Europe2Campus shows in France will still take place with the other acts on the tour.
The full list of affected dates are:
26th Oct 2006 - Elysee Montmarte, Paris. France
27th Oct 2006 - Olympic, Nantes. France
29th Oct 2006 - Le Grand Mix, Tourcoing Cedex. France
1st Nov 2006 - Ringlokschuppen, Bielefeld. Germany
2nd Nov 2006 - DasHaus, Ludwigshafen. Germany
Yup, the concert in Ludwigshafen was canceled. That is the one I was going to go to with Tina and Nate. I was so so so excited about seeing them live. I had been looking forward to November 2nd ever since I found out about their concert. And now it’s not happening. I am really crushed. I do not often go to concerts because most bands I like are not that big in Germany, and most don’t come to this area anyway, and Snow Patrol would have been in LU and I couldn’t believe my luck, and now… fuck. That’s really all I can say. Fuck fuck fuck. Since the concert was part of a series of concerts in the delta (Heidelberg, Mannheim, Ludwigshafen), I doubt that Snow Patrol will come back here to make up for that missed concert. How crappy is this? Tomorrow I will have to go back to the store I got the tickets at and get a refund.
I went into the Hunkemöller store with Sheela this afternoon (compares a little to Victoria’s Secret, I guess), and I looked at a corset and I checked the modell name, and guess what it was? Yup, the amazingly beautiful name Viviane. Turns out they have a line of lingerie just for me! Okay, maybe not just for me …
So now, after I already have my own jeans brand (Miss Vivi), I also have my own lingerie line! Sweet!
