So many things have happened in the world since my last post.

I cannot believe what happened in New Orleans… I feel so sorry for everyone who was affected by this disaster, and it was so frustrating to see how the people there were waiting for help for days, and no one came to help. Bush’s government really failed here. In his own country. I hope and pray that the people who have lost family members and/or their homes can find a way to get their lives back, to find new homes and new jobs. It is so tragic. I don’t know what I would do if that happened to me.

I have not been up to much. I have been hanging out with friends, seeing movies (”Sin City” - sick but good at the same time; “Bewitched” - cute, funny, loved it; “Lost in Translation” - weird but good), I have ordered several new DVDs and my books for next semester (haven’t started reading them yet, though), among other things.

I have been thinking about a semester abroad in Spain. I used to say I wouldn’t do it, just because I want to graduate as soon as possible, but when I re-read the examination regulations, I noticed it does not say a semester abroad is recommended, but it is expected. That changes things a little, because it makes me think I might actually not be able to graduate without having spent a semester in Spain (just because my Spanish wouldn’t be good enough). So when I am back in Heidelberg I will do some research on the Erasmus exchange program, and try to find out when I have to apply. I would like to go during the summer of 2007, but at the same time that is the latest I can go, so I might just apply a semester before, already. Which would mean I’d go to Spain in a year. But right now nothing is definite, so I’ll leave the worrying and planning for later. ;)

I finally got my cellphone back. The software needed an update so I had to send it in and I just got it back on Thursday. So glad to have it back. Hopefully now that it’s updated it won’t mess up like that again (it kept switching itself off).

I also started Weightwatchers this week. Today is day 5 and I am still doing great. The points I can eat per day are enough to even snack sometimes ;) It is really nice to have total control over the amount I am eating. I can look up everything and all food is assigned points. It should get easier in Heidelberg because there I’ll be doing the grocery shopping, so I will not buy things I cannot eat, and at the same time it might get harder because I’ll have to eat out more, so it won’t be as easy to keep track of the points. But by then, hopefully, I will have memorized a lot of the point values of food. So far I really like WW, and hopefully I can stick to it for as long as it takes to lose the weight I want to lose. :)

Three more weeks until I am moving back to Heidelberg. So I need to get things organized pretty soon. I need to repack all my things, and go through everything in my room to see what I want to take. I have been home for three months now and of course I did not keep everything in boxes. I have all my books for school all over the shelf, and my clothes need to be sorted, and whatnot. Then I need to read the books for my Am Lit class and study for my Italian placement test. So much to do! *sigh*

Well, that’s about it for now. Laters!

P.S. Boomer Sooner!!! We won yesterday, yeah! (Much needed after last week’s game.)
