Archive for April, 2005

Time flies. I have only two more weeks left in Norman. My trip to the East Coast is all booked and everything. I’ll be staying 6 nights in Boston, 9 in NYC, 3 in Philadelphia, and 5 in Washington. I also found out I can stay here until May 16th so I don’t have to worry about accomodation before I leave (the lease is up on the 14th, I leave on the 15th but we get a grace period of two days).

Last weekend was quite busy. Friday I went to see Coach Carter at the Union and it was a really great movie. Then that evening I went out with Colette and April for dinner (*gasp* yes you read that right, …with Colette ;p). We went to the Islands Cafe which is a new place, and it was really good!

Saturday I went out with Holly and Ayae. We went to the mall first, and got a babyshower present for Katrina, and I got myself a really cute purse I’ll be using for traveling this summer, and then we saw “The Interpreter” at the movies, which was really great. Good movie, definitely. I really like Nicole Kidman, she’s a great actress.

Sunday I went to Katrina’s babyshower. It was fun, although sitting there with all these women who were squealing over toys and baby clothes, was a little nerve wracking after a while. But fun anyway. And I think they liked our present :) Sunday night I finished my paper, last minute of course. I am not too happy with the way I structured it and I feel like I repeated myself a lot, but oh well - can’t change it now. I hope I manage to pull a B because that would allow me to get a C on the final and still make a B in the class. (If I make a C on the paper and final it’ll depend on how nice my prof is, because I’ll be exactly between B and C :p)

This week nothing special has been going on. I have been going to class, to work, and stuff. I found out my average in Italian so far is a 99% which is a really nice grade to be going into the final with. I got the study guide for our Harlem Renaissance final and it’s a killer exam, really! It’s so much tougher than the midterm and that already was really hard!

Well, today I went to the OU Cousins BBQ and that was so fun! We ate, and then line danced which was awesome. Hope I get a chance to do that again before I leave (although I doubt it, seeing as I have finals until the day I leave, basically). Here is a picture of my OU cousin Lauren and me:

Well, I am going to go now, get some sleep. I might actually be able to catch up on sleep tonight.

Tonight I watched 24, as usual on Monday nights ;) (The only time I missed an episode was while I was in San Francisco - thankfully there is such a thing as bittorrent…)
Tonight’s episode was pretty cool, haha.I also loved the Family Guy commercial. Hilarious!

I thought it was hilarious how Marwan calls Amnesty, I mean hello? A terrorist calls Amnesty to report someone getting tortured?! So ironic, and so hilarious! But he really is a smart guy. (And hot! :p)
And yayyyy! Palmer will be back on the next episode! I love him, so I’m excited. He’ll definitely do a better job than the current president! :D

Peter: Man, 24 hours and you never see that guy use the bathroom once…
Brian: You… want to see him use the bathroom?
Peter: Maybe…

Awesome, I’ll have to watch the new eps when they come out in May, even though there will only be two or so until I move out. :( (But again, bittorrent is a great thing!)

By the way, the deadline for my paper was moved to Monday (because our prof had cancelled class last Wednesday), so now I have another week. I did finish three pages last night though. So only 4-5 more to go :) But chances are I’ll wait till next weekend to get those done, haha.
Today I also checked out two Bill Bryson books out at the library. They’re “Made in America” and “A Short History of Nearly Everything”. Hopefully I’ll be able to get them done before I leave. I still have two more books to read for school, and then I doubt I’ll get to read a lot during finals week. Well, I’ll see…

P.S. The line “This will help with the pain” was also priceless! Much <3 for Jack :D
